From a Single Hospital to an Integrated System of Care.
New Frontier's continuous business-model innovation — from a single hospital to an AI-driven health and life science system serving the Greater Bay Area and beyond.
1997 — 2016
A Single Hospital
International-standard private hospitals, built one site at a time. Beijing came first, in 1997 — the first private hospital in mainland China held to international standards. Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen,Tianjin, and Qingdao followed. Each site stood on its own; the network came later.

Founding of UFH
Beijing United Family opens as China's first international-standard private hospital.

JCI Milestone
First private hospital in China to achieve JCI accreditation.
- 2008
Guangzhou Flagship
Expansion into the Pearl River Delta, bringing international-standard care to Southern China.
- 2012
Shanghai Puxi Opening
A new tertiary site in East China's economic hub.
2016 — 2020
A Healthcare Network
The single hospital was no longer enough. A patient leaving a tertiary bed still needed rehabilitation; a patient at home still needed care. We connected hospitals to rehabilitation centres to home care — the first version of the General Medical + Rehab + Home Care continuum.

New Frontier Group established to build an integrated, international-standard healthcare system.

Home Healthcare
Invested in YDCare (Shanghai), extending medical services into the home.
- 2018
Rehabilitation Sector
Invested in Care Alliance (Chengdu) — formal entry into rehabilitation.
- 2019
Acquiring UFH
Acquired United Family Healthcare and entered the GBA with the HK HEAL oncology center.
2021 — 2023
A Healthcare System and Payment
Care without payment doesn't reach the patient. We built the payment side ourselves — Prosper Health and Better Insurance — so coverage worked the same way as the clinical record. The result: direct billing across the network, no claim forms, no surprise bills.

Shenzhen New Frontier United Family Hospital opens as a central GBA hub.

Digital Upgrade
Nationwide internet hospital system completes the digital closed loop.
2024 — Present
Healthcare and Life Sciences Powered by AI
Care and discovery now operate as one system. NF Nova runs decentralized clinical trials inside our own hospitals — what's learned at the bedside feeds the research, what the research finds returns to the bedside. AI sits underneath, matching patients to trials and reading scans alongside the radiologist.
