Shuo Wang

Group Chief Finance Officer

Mr. Shuo Wang is the Group Finance Controller of New Frontier Group.

Mr. Wang is responsible of leading the overall finance function of New Frontier Group and all our portfolio companies.

He works closely with venture teams and focuses on building the excellence of financial management that helps business to grow rapidly and sustainably.

Prior to joining New Frontier, Mr. Wang held senior position at Amcor China and Deloitte, where he led consulting services for well-known MNCs in both financial and pharmaceutical sector.

Mr. Wang earned his Bachelor degree in Engineering from Fudan University, as well as the International Master of Business Administration degree from Sauder School of Business at University of British Columbia.

Prof. Lin Feng

Prof. Lin Feng is the Executive Director of NF Health and President and Co-Founder of Unimed Medical Group.

Prof. Lin Feng is the Chief Surgeon of the Sixth Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University. He is engaged in gastrointestinal surgery for more than 30 years, mainly focusing on gastrointestinal cancer research. He is a well-known expert in the field of gastrointestinal tumor (gastric cancer, colon cancer, rectal cancer, and small intestine cancer).

Prof. Lin has been the vice-chairman of China Cancer Society’s Committee on Gastrointestinal Oncology, member of Standing Committee of the China Cancer Society’s Colorectal Cancer Professional Council, member of Chinese Medical Association Oncology Branch, Vice-chairman of Chinese Medical Association Surgical Nutrition Support Group, deputy director of Guangdong Medical Association, deputy director of Department of Gastroenterology Surgery, expert of Guangdong Provincial Science and technology research group, expert of Guangdong Scientific and Technological Achievements Evaluation, expert of Gastrointestinal cancer treatment norms development experts of Ministry of Health. Prof. Lin also serves as the editorial board member of Chinese Journal of Practical Surgery, Chinese Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery, Journal of Colorectal Cancer, Journal of Intestinal parenteral nutrition, and Lingnan Journal of Modern Clinical Surgery.

Prof. Lin graduated from Sun Yat-sen University Medical School in 1982 and studied in Japan, USA, UK, Australia and other countries.

Francis Lee

Mr. Francis Lee is a Managing Director of New Frontier.

Prior to joining New Frontier, he was Senior Vice President at Hilton Worldwide and a core founding member of its Greater China leadership team. He led the establishment and expansion of the Hilton enterprise in Greater China, setting up the Greater China regional corporate headquarters and significantly growing the portfolio from four hotels to about 600 properties opened and in the pipeline on his departure. He was also instrumental in inducting eight new brands into the Greater China market and pioneered several groundbreaking transactions in the industry.

Before joining Hilton, Francis was a corporate finance lawyer specializing in private equity, venture capital, M&A and capital markets.

Francis holds a Master of Laws, Master of Applied Finance and MBA.

Ed Tam

Mr. Ed Tam serves as the Chief Design officer of New Frontier Group and Vice-Chairman of NF Innovation. In his capacity as the Chief Design Officer, Ed is responsible for leading the overall brand design and experience strategy of all of our portfolio companies. He is currently working on our latest acquisition of an AI company that helps enterprises unlock the value of machine learning.

Ed was most recently the Co-founder and CEO of HelloToby, where he led the product creation and roll out of the platform. In little over a year, HelloToby has become the leading marketplace for services in Asia. He continues to serve of the board of HelloToby; providing counsel in matters concerning marketing and marketplace expansion.

Prior to joining New Frontier group, Ed was a senior marketing executive at Nike China where he was responsible for the launch of the Nike Flyknit franchise and Digital Sports. He also held several leadership roles in the world’s top marketing agencies including, TBWA and Mindshare.

Ed has previously ran his own strategic design studio, Tam + Partners in Europe where he advised a portfolio of automotive, education and sports companies on their future design agendas.

He holds a Master of Arts degree in Service Design from the Royal College of Art in the UK, as well as an undergraduate degree from the London School of Economics.

Jerry Wu

Prior to serving as an Executive Director at New Frontier Health, Dr. Wu was a practitioner at the Shanghai DongHua hospital for over seven years. Dr Wu started his career as a physician in Shanghai’s Donghua hospital. And he has has a series of commercial roles in several large private entities including Fujifilm medical equipment, Far East Leasing Ltd (part of Sino Chem group), CP Pharmaceutical and Zhengda Pharmaceutical Group.

In 2005, he served as an expert of the Chinese PACS Standards Development Group for the Ministry of Health. In 2008, he participated in the preparation of the financial reform report for the Ministry of Health’s Finance and Accounting Department. From 2014 to 2015, Dr. Wu served as consultant for several investment companies such as Columbia Medical, Bosch Medical, and Cloud Health.

Dr. Wu was born and raised in Shanghai. He graduated from Shanghai Second Medical University and has a degree in EMBA from Peking University.

Derek Guo

Mr. Derek Guo currently serves as Head of Operation at Toby – Hong Kong’s leading Marketplace for Services. As a founding team member of Toby, Derek has successfully led Toby’s expansion into Taiwan.Before joining Toby in 2016, Derek was trained as an engineer in the urban planning transportation sector in Canada. He gained extensive project management experiences from working in a number of large urban projects across Vancouver and Toronto.

Derek earned his Bachelor of Applied Science at the University of British Columbia.

Prince Wang

Mr. Prince Wang is the CTO at New Frontier where he leads the long-term technology vision of New Frontier’s various portfolio companies.

Prince currently serves as the CTO for Toby, the leading Marketplace for Services in Hong Kong, where he is responsible for overseeing all technical aspects, including the software architecture, information technology and engineering of the company. Prior to his role at Toby, Mr. Wang has over 10 years of technical experience serving as the Lead Senior Software Engineer in China’s most prestigious tech companies including AliPay and Dianpin (now Meituan-Dianpin), as well as the Senior System Architect behind one of the leading transportation management software in North America.

Prince graduated from Wuhan University where he received his Master’s in Computer Science and Bachelor in Physics.

Jason Zheng

Mr. Jason Zheng is currently an Executive Director at New Frontier and Head of Product at HelloToby.

Jason works closely with the venture team at New Frontier and is involved in the sourcing and execution of investment opportunities. He currently serves as Head of Product at HelloToby – Hong Kong’s leading Marketplace for Services. He also played an instrumental role in the creation of Boxful, Asia’s largest on-demand self-storage company.

Before joining New Frontier, Jason worked in the Investment Banking Division at JPMorgan where he was involved in a number of high-profile equity transactions across Greater Asia.

Jason earned his Master in Financial Economics degree from the University of Oxford and is also an alumnus of University of British Columbia where he earned his Bachelor in Commerce.

Sara Li

Mrs. Sara Li is the Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of YD Care (home care & home healthcare), and has over 13 years of experiences in hospital, clinic and senior living investment, management, and operations.

Prior to joining YD Care, Mrs. Li was the Director of Investment and Business Development at Columbia China Group. She executed numerous hospital and senior living investment projects, including 1 level-3 specialty hospital and 2 clinic acquisitions, 3 greenfield hospitals and senior facility development projects in Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang Provinces.

Prior to joining the Columbia China Group, Mrs. Li held senior operations and management roles at several Level-3 public hospitals, foreign hospitals and chain medical facilities in the Yangtze River Delta Region.

Over the years of diversified exposures in the healthcare industry, Mrs. Li has gained in-depth knowledge and experience in analyzing consumer purchasing behavior. In addition, she has developed strong leadership capability as well as good understandings of government policies and regulations in the fields of acquisition, new setup and operation of medical and senior living facilities.

Mrs. Li has a Master Degree with China Pharmaceutical University.

Serena Xie

Mrs. Serena Xie is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of YD Care (home healthcare start-up in China), and has 15 years of experience both in China and US in the senior living and healthcare industries.

Serena returned to China in 2010 to lead the China business of global senior living and healthcare conglomerate Emeritus Senior Living and Columbia Hospital, both part of Dan Baty’s global healthcare empire. She successfully set up the first high-end foreign senior living brand and first foreign for-profit senior living facility in China, and also systematically localized the US operating model and training program to the Chinese market.

At the same time, Serena was also responsible for making investing on behalf of Columbia Pacific Healthcare Fund in China. As part of her role, she bought and built a sizable portfolio of hospital and clinic, and successfully executed the phase I strategy in terms of market entrance and operating capabilities. In addition, she was a key member in securing the major capital investment from Singapore Sovereign Fund.

Serena earned her Bachelor degree in Finance from University of Illinois at Chicago.

Albert Xu

Mr. Albert Xu is the co-founder and co-CEO of Care Alliance. Care Alliance operates post-acute rehabilitation hospitals, pediatric rehabilitation centers, geriatric hospitals and long-term nursing facilities. It is committed to promoting modern principles and practices as well as cultivating talents across the rehabilitation and age care continuum in China.

Prior to founding Care Alliance, Mr. Xu worked at Blackstone’s Private Equity Group in Shanghai and Hong Kong, responsible for the assessment, execution and management of investment opportunities in Greater China. He was a key member executing Blackstone’s first significant healthcare transaction in China – investing over US$150m into one of China’s leading manufacturers of orthopedic implants. Before joining Blackstone, Mr. Xu worked at the investment banking division of Deutsche Bank in New York and executed over US$10B+ of M&A and financing transactions.

Mr. Xu received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree with High Distinction from Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.

Shuai Yuan

Mr. Shuai Yuan is the co-founder and co-CEO of Care Alliance. Care Alliance operates post-acute rehabilitation hospitals, pediatric rehabilitation centers, geriatric hospitals and long-term nursing facilities. It is committed to promoting modern principles and practices as well as cultivating talents across the rehabilitation and age care continuum in China.

Prior to forming Care Alliance, Mr. Yuan previously worked at Morgan Stanley Private Equity Asia, leading the assessment, execution and management of healthcare investment opportunities in Asia, including privatization of public hospitals and acquisition and set-up of rehabilitation hospitals. Prior to Morgan Stanley Private Equity Asia, Mr. Yuan worked in Morgan Stanley Investment Banking Division, assisting on multiple cross-border M&A transactions in industrial and transportation sectors.

Mr. Yuan received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Political Science with Distinction from Yale University.
